We’re Hiring: Accounting Associate



The Accounting Associate position is a rare opportunity for a detail oriented, experienced bookkeeper to be a part of an innovative real estate development team. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Accounting Associate plays a key role in the Finance Department. The Accounting Associate is responsible for recording all financial transactions, managing AR/AP, preforming monthly reconciliation, processing payroll, and assisting with tax preparation.


  • Receive, audit, and code all accounts payable invoices and prepare checks
  • Receive, audit, code, deposit, and post to Quickbooks all receivables
  • Generate and distribute monthly tenant billing statements
  • Reconcile and balance bank accounts monthly
  • Generate monthly financial reports
  • Prepare and process bi-monthly payroll
  • File quarterly payroll tax returns
  • Generate invoices for intercompany reimbursable expenses
  • Assist with end of year tax preparation – year end bank account reconciliation, prepare 1099s and W2s
  • Prepare bi-annual investor statements
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Respond to employee questions regarding expense coding and other accounting issues
  • Provide clerical or administrative support to management as needed
  • Assist with audits
  • Assist with setting up new chart of accounts
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial files
  • Communicate in a professional and friendly manner with financial institutions
  • Make recommendations for creating efficiencies in the accounting and other processes
  • Various tasks assigned by the Chief Financial Officer


  • Minimum 2 -3 years of bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • CPA license is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
  • Mastery of Quickbooks Desktop
  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for processing regular payroll transactions and quarterly payroll returns
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
  • Proficient with Windows operating system
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Proficient with Gmail, Google Applications, Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat


  • Salary dependent upon experience
